Arsenal manager Unai Emery is eyeing a big transfer at the club ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
In his pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday afternoon, Unai Emery told reporters that the club is working to improve the squad with new players.
The Spaniard is hoping that Arsenal can make a big signing to boost the team just like what Dutch international centre back Virgil Van Dijk has done at Premier League challengers Liverpool.
Van Dijk has been able to transform Liverpool into genuine title contenders following his big-money move from fellow Premier League club Southampton.
The Saints received a world-record fee for a defender from the Reds for Van Dijk.
Liverpool paid £75m to make him the most expensive defender in the history of world football.
Van Dijk played a major role in the Reds’ sensational run to the Champions League final last season before they were beaten by Real Madrid.
Liverpool lost that final 3-1 to the outgoing European champions.
Van Dijk has maintained that form into this season and he’s a strong contender for the Player of the Season in the Premier League this season alongside the likes of Raheem Sterling of Manchester City.
