Chelsea ready to land ex-Real Madrid chief for top job

English Premier League outfit Chelsea are reportedly ready to land former Real Madrid chief and Lille sporting director Luis Campos as they plan to restructure the management.

The Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has left the running of the Stanford Bridge to his long-time confidant and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia but there is a need to replace Nigerian international Michael Emenalo who left the club in 2016.

Luis Campos could be set to take over the role of recruitment of players as the position has been vacant since the departure of the Nigerian.

Michael Emelano left the West London outfit to join French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco but he has not been successful at the club as he was at Chelsea.

However, Luis Campos has been tipped to make good success at the Stamford Bridge, having done a good job by securing the signature if James Rodriquez, Bernardo Solva, Djibril Sidibe to the French Ligue 1 outfit.

Man United had earlier made an attempt to snap up the star Lille chief but it did not work out with Luis Campos stating had he never received any concrete offer form the EPL side.

Meanwhile, it is unsure if Chelsea will be able to sign new players as the transfer ban is yet to be appealed.
