DAVID DE GEA has been branded the “Spanish Loris Karius” after his howler created Marco Alonso’s equaliser for Chelsea.
The goalkeeper has made three errors leading to goals in his last four games for Manchester United – which is as many as in his previous 123 games.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s looked set to head into half time with a one goal lead after Juan Mata’s opener in the scoring in the 11th minute.
But out of nowhere, De Gea gave Chelsea the chance to level the scoring when he spilled a long shot from Antonio Rudiger.
The ball fell kindly into the path of Alonso, who steered the ball off the post and into the net from a tight angle.
Fans have now compared him to Liverpool flop Karius because of his tendency to make high-profile mistakes.
One fan on Twitter said: “Anyone who says De Gea is one of the top five keepers in the world needs to get their brain checked. Mans just the Spanish Karius.”
