Eden Hazard is “determined” to join Real Madrid from Chelsea FC this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Guardian is reporting that the Belgian playmaker now has his heart set on a move to The Bernabeu after the Spanish club re-appointed Zinedine Zidane as their manager this week.
According to the same article, Real Madrid “firmed up” their interest in signing Hazard just before the Spanish side brought Zidane back as their boss.
Hazard’s current contract at Chelsea FC is due to expire in the summer of 2020 and he has so far given “no indication” that he is willing to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, according to the same report.
The same story says that Chelsea FC will still demand a transfer fee of around £100m to let Hazard leave this summer, despite him having only a year left on his contract this summer.
According to the same article, Hazard’s admiration for Zidane is “well-established” and the Chelsea FC playmaker would love to work under the France legend.
Hazard has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent seasons but a move has not yet materialised.
He has been a key player for Chelsea FC under Maurizio Sarri this term and has scored 13 goals and made 11 assists in 28 Premier League games so far this season.
