Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as reportedly turned down the offer to take over as the boss of Spanish la Liga outfit Barcelona ahead of the coming season.

The French manager has been without a job since the 2017-18 season after a 22-year spell at the Emirates Stadium. Since his retirement, he has been working as a pundit before picking up a job with FIFA.

However, it is reported that The Spanish La Liga giants gave him the opportunity to return to the dugout after the sack of their manager Quique Setien but he refused.

Spanish outlet Sport claims that Arsene Wenger was not impressed with the long-term structure at the Camp Nou, the reason why he rejected a move to the club.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are reportedly ready to turn their attention on the club legend, Xavi but are being restricted until 2021.

The former Arsenal boss has claimed to be missing football and wants to return but he is obviously looking for the right condition and atmosphere to do so.

Since his resignation as Arsenal manager, the North London outfit have had two managers, Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta who is the current manager with an FA Cup win in his short spell.
