Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly made contact with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho. With Real stumbling in the LaLiga, the pressure is mounting on French coach Zinedine Zidane.
While the current manager retains Perez’s support, Diario Gol claims that he has begun testing the ground for potential successors.
He has asked Jose Mourinho about returning to Los Blancos, though the response was negative. The Portuguese manager isn’t interested in leaving the Red Devils for a second stint in charge of Real.
The former Porto manager once worked at La Liga giants. During his three year spell at Madrid, Mourinho won the La Liga and Copa del Rey cup titles.
Others interesting Perez at this stage in the process are Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and Germany coach Joachim Low.
Perez will get another close look at the Argentinian’s management tomorrow when La Liga giants go to Wembley for their Champions League against Spurs. It’s claimed the Argentine now features highly on the president’s shortlist.
