According to new reports, Luke Shaw is now free to leave Old Trafford in January on loan after permission was granted to him by Manchester United.
Shaw has made just two appearances so far this term and last started for Man United back in April.
The talented player is now fourth choice left-back in Mourinho’s team behind the likes of Ashley Young, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is popularly known to be a big fan of the player, and Shaw himself has expressed his desire to reunite with the Argentine boss.
Additionally, it was also made known that other English sides including Southampton and Everton would also be interested in landing him.
According to The Sun, although manager Jose Mourinho believes Shaw has a long-term future at Manchester United, the Portuguese tactician has told the player that he can leave on loan when January comes.
Luke is out of contract at the end of this term, but Man Utd will activate a 12-month extension clause in his deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
Should he go on loan and successfully improve, the Old Trafford club will have to make a long-term decision on his future in the summer and could even sell him for cash.
