Man Utd Slammed For ‘Emotional’ Solskjaer Appointment

Premier League giants Manchester United have been heavily criticised for the quick appointment of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This is according to former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder who talked about Manchester United and Solskjaer while he was on BBC Sport.

Jermaine Jenas accused the Manchester United hierarchy of not having a clear idea of how to move the club forward and that the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Manchester United manager was made based on emotions.

Former Red Devils striker Solskjaer was initially named the interim Manchester United manager in December before the job was turned to a permanent one for the Norwegian tactician last month.

Solskjaer replaced the sacked Jose Mourinho in December after the Red Devils had their worst start in the Premier League era under him.

His last game as the Manchester United manager was the 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in December.

Solskjaer lost just once from the first 17 games managed by the man nicknamed the ‘Baby Face Assassin’ during his playing days at Old Trafford.

Since his permanent appointment, Manchester United and Solskjaer have lost five games from the seven games managed including the defeats suffered in both the first and second legs against Spanish champions Barcelona in their last eight tie in the Champions League.
