Several football chief executives have revealed that swap deals could be a common theme in the transfer market this summer as the sport tries to cope with the financial setback associated with the current COVID era. Many high profile swap deals have been discussed ahead of this summer’s transfer market and the possibility of a Gareth Bale-Paul Pogba swap is on the list of these swap deals.
French World Cup winner Pogba is on his way out of Manchester United this summer with the player not keen to extend his contract which has two years left to run. To this effect, this summer represents the best time to sell the midfielder if they want to recoup the majority of the £89m transfer fee spent to sign the player from Juventus four years ago.

Pogba won’t be short of suitors with big clubs like Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Real Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan. Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid are favourites to sign him and a possible swap deal involving Gareth Bale has been disclosed in the media.
Manchester United are long-term admirers of Gareth Bale but their interest in the player seems to have waned over the years. The Welshman could have moved to Old Trafford before Real Madrid swooped in on him some seven years ago for a then world-record fee of around £85m.
Real Madrid have serious interest in Paul Pogba via their manager Zinedine Zidane but the same can’t be said about Manchester United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Manchester United might request other quality players from Real Madrid if they agree to a swap deal with the Spaniards. For now, only the Paul Pogba in exchange for Gareth Bale and some cash has been discussed in the media.
Transfer Ratings for Gareth Bale to Manchester United: 2/10.
